We also had a guest speaker today, Nick Kryger. Nick is from the Salt Lake City Public Utilities Division and runs GIS systems the city uses to track, water, sewer, and other projects throughout the city. He shared a useful tool that allows the public access to a variety ofmaps in the city, including trails and watershed information. Kevin Sato also visited and shared his participation in the Utah Geographic Information Council. Brian from the Blue Stakes of Utah shared information about how they use GIS and GPS to help locate and inform utility companies of where contractors are going to dig.
